Queensland young gun Hayden ‘Hard dog’ Josefski has taken out the Australian Cycling Grand Prix’s opening race, an individual time trial.

Bridie O’Donnell proved her that her form is good to take out the women’s race.

Josefski, a junior world champion on the track used his power to dominate the 38.5km course.

I suppose by the look of my results, you could call me a bit of a time trial specialist, but I’m looking to improve my criterium and road racing,” Josefski said.

I struggled for form in the Tour of Gippsland and I knew this week would be tough, but it’s nice to get a win and race into some better form.”

Josefski, who hails from the sunny town of Maryborough in Queensland was rapt to take the win.

It’s great to get a win and I hope I can now go on with it over the rest of the weekend.”

DSC_0003O’Donnell powered on the windy course to record a time of 39.59, a whopping 1.48 ahead of the ACT’s Vicki Whitelaw.

The crosswinds made the time trial very difficult, but I kept thinking it wasn’t going to be any easier for the others, so I just kept my head down and raced as hard as I could,” explained O’Donnell.
